Here you’ll find all my flag and symbol patterns! For more information on how to sew them, please see my patch pattern tutorial page and my text patch miniseries.
Header links will take you to posts demonstrating sewn examples (if available). Patterns are grouped by theme or shape. This page includes all bonus non-text and non-arrow patterns. It does not include my aro arrow patterns.

Notes on Pattern Structure
Full coloured blocks or crosses indicate a full cross stitch.
Outlines indicate backstitch.
Blocks or crosses divided on the diagonal by a line of backstitch, each half a different colour, indicate quarter stitches. Please see my first text tutorial for more information on backstitching outlines and placing quarter/fractional stitches.
Space for edging your patch is not shown in the patterns below. You’ll need to allow additional blocks for this when cutting your swatch, depending on how narrow or thick you like your edges.

3 Stripe Square / Romo Aro / Aroflex Flag Patterns – 15 Block
The three-stripe, romo aro and aroflex flag patterns fit a square 15 stitches wide and 15 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 18 x 18 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

4 Stripe Square / Demi Flag Patterns – 16 Block, 4 Stripe
The four-stripe, demi-rhombus and demi-triangle flag patterns fit a square 16 stitches wide and 16 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want an 19 x 19 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Apothi / Jump / Spike Flag Patterns – 15 Block, 5 Stripe
The apothi, jump and spike flag patterns fit a square 15 stitches wide and 15 stitches high.

8 Stripe Square / Vague / Demi Flag Patterns – 16 Block, 4 / 8 Stripe
The eight-stripe, vague and demi-rhombus flag patterns fit a square 16 stitches wide and 16 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want an 19 x 19 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Aro-Ace / Spike / Greyromantic Flag Patterns – 16 Block, 8 Stripe
The aro-ace, stripe-spike and greyromantic flag patterns fit a square 16 stitches wide and 16 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want an 19 x 19 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Inset Rhombus Pattern – 15 Block, 5 Stripe
The five-stripe inset rhombus flag patterns fit a square 15 stitches wide and 15 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 18 x 18 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Zigzag Flag Pattern – 17 Block, 5 Stripe
The five-stripe zigzag flag patterns fit a rectangle 25 stitches wide and 17 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 28 x 20 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Zigzag Flag Patch Pattern – 18 Block, 4 / 8 Stripe

The four and eight-stripe zigzag flag patterns fit a rectangle 25 stitches wide and 18 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want an 28 x 21 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).
The left-hand eight-stripe variant uses a quoiromantic quoisexual (or quoiro-quoix) flag with a black stripe at the top and bottom of the flag. This results in the additional line of black where the top black line meets the repeated sections of the black bottom line (and the bottom black line meets the repeated sections of the top black line).
This effect will occur with any flag that uses the same colour for both its topmost and bottommost stripes.

Heart Pattern – 15 Block, 3 / 5 Stripe
The three and five-stripe heart patterns fit a rectangle 17 stitches wide and 15 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 20 x 18 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).
As this design is best stitched upside-down, the pattern is oriented to match.

Heart Pattern – 16 Block, 4 / 8 Stripe
The four and eight-stripe heart patterns fit a rectangle 17 stitches wide and 16 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 20 x 19 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).
As this design is best stitched upside-down, the pattern is oriented to match.

Heart Pattern – 18 Block, 3 / 6 / 9 Stripe
The three, six and nine-stripe heart patterns fit a rectangle 19 stitches wide and 18 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 22 x 21 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).
As this design is best stitched upside-down, the pattern is oriented to match.

Heart Pattern – 20 Block, 4 / 5 / 10 Stripe
Demi / dello variants:
Jump and spike variants:

The demi, spike, four, five and ten-stripe heart patterns fit a rectangle 21 stitches wide and 20 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 24 x 23 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).
Because these patches are more easily sewn upside down, the patterns are oriented to match.
When rotated point downwards, the black triangles in the demi pattern will show in the correct position as per their respective flags. If sewing upside-down demi heart patches, so that the flag’s topmost stripe colour begins at the base of the heart, remember to horizontally flip the triangles so they cover the patch’s left-hand side.

Heart Pattern – 21 Block, 3 / 7 Stripe
The three and seven-stripe heart patterns fit a square 21 stitches wide and 21 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 24 x 24 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).
As this design is best stitched upside-down, the pattern is oriented to match.

Ace of Spades Pattern – 20 Block, 4 / 5 Stripe
Demi, spike and jump variants:

The four-stripe, five-stripe, demi, jump and spike ace of spades patterns fit a rectangle 17 stitches wide and 20 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 20 x 23 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Ace of Spades Pattern – 21 Block, 3 / 7 Stripe
The three and seven-stripe ace of spades patterns fit a rectangle 17 stitches wide and 21 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 20 x 24 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Crescent Pattern – 20 Block, 4 / 5 Stripe

The four and five-stripe crescent moon patterns fit a rectangle 16 stitches wide and 20 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 19 x 23 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).
