Because I’m not an informative resource blog, I tend to skip past posts that talk about identities, definitions and terminology. This means that I’m often asked questions that can be answered by a great post I saw only a week earlier … a post I’m now unable to find!
This page collects flag proposals, Tumblr posts, zines, lists, essays, articles and anything else to, for or about the aromantic community that I think people may find useful. It’s worth noting that a number of these pieces are not targeted at newcomers to the aro community and some will assume familiarity with our language and ongoing community discussions.
Please note that I don’t always agree with some of the definitions given. Other pieces on terms will lack a single definition or interpretation, have meanings that changed since the time of posting, or fail to reference competing or differing definitions. (As one example, I’ve seen ten different ways of defining lithromantic!) We’re still a young community, and this shows in rapidly-changing terms, a disagreement in how terms should operate or a lack of consistency in their use. I recommend reading through as many different posts on any given term or word as you can, to get a sense of what the community is saying and how you yourself can relate to it–or disagree with it.
