Pride Patch Patterns: February 2023

Text reading "pride patch patterns" against a grey grid background. The words pride and pattern are written in a black handdrawn/script font and outlined with white. The word patch is drawn pixel-style like a cross stitch pattern and filled in with the green/light green/white/grey/black stripes of the aromantic flag.

As I post weekly pride patch patterns on Patreon, here’s a monthly round-up for non-subscribers!

Cross stitch pattern with the text aroace in pixel-style lower-case lettering. The text is divided into two words - aro and ace - with each word striped in the colours of the aegoromantic (black/grey/white/green with downwards-pointing green/white/grey/black triangle) and aegosexual(black/grey/white/purple with downwards-pointing purple/white/grey/black triangle) flags on a very dark grey background. Pattern is set on a grey grid.

Folks who need help with materials, stitching, finishing or attaching patches should check out my tutorial master page.

Previous patterns are available at my pattern gallery.

Notes on Pattern Structure

Full coloured blocks indicate a full cross stitch. Letter outlines indicate backstitch.

Blocks divided on the diagonal by a line of backstitch, each half a different colour, indicate quarter stitches. Please see my first text tutorial and my pride text tutorial for more information on backstitching outlines and placing quarter/fractional stitches.

Space for edging your patch is not shown in the patterns below. You’ll need to allow additional blocks for this when cutting your swatch, depending on how narrow or thick you like your edges.

Aego Aro-Ace Patch Pattern – Twelve Block, Upper Case

Cross stitch pattern with the text aroace in pixel-style lower-case lettering. The text is divided into two words - aro and ace - with each word striped in the colours of the aegoromantic (black/grey/white/green with downwards-pointing green/white/grey/black triangle) and aegosexual(black/grey/white/purple with downwards-pointing purple/white/grey/black triangle) flags on a very dark grey background. Pattern is set on a grey grid.

The four-stripe aego “aroace” pattern fits a rectangle 74 stitches wide and 16 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 77 x 19 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

C is for Cupiflux / F is for Ficto Letter Patch Pattern – Eight x Ten Block

Two square cross stitch patterns with the letters "c" and "f" in lower-case lettering. Both designs have a black or dark grey background, with the letter placed in the centre of the patch, surrounded by a striped frame. Both letters and the frame are striped in the colours of the cupioromantic-flux (peach/orange/orange-red/red/maroon) and fictoromantic (black/grey/green/grey/black with black-outlined pink circle) pride flags. Pattern is set on a light grey grid. Letters are outlined, indicating backstitch.

The 8 x 10 “C is for Cupioromantic-Flux / F is for Ficto” icon/frame patterns fit a square 20 stitches wide and 20 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 23 x 23 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Romo Aro Patch Pattern – Fifteen Block, Upper Case

Romo aro cross stitch patch pattern with the text romo aro in upper-case block lettering, striped in the colours of the green/light green/pink/white/pink/light grey/black romo aro flag, with a dark red-pink background. Pattern is set on a light grey grid. Letters are outlined, indicating backstitch, in lighter yellow-green.

The five-stripe “romo aro” pattern fits a rectangle 85 stitches wide and 19 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 88 x 22 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Zigzag Flag Patch Pattern – Three Stripe

Two rectangular cross stitch pride flag patterns with zigzag stripes, striped in the colours of the pink/yellow/cyan pansexual flag and pink/green/cyan polysexual flag. The pan flag patch has a simple wide stripe with no repetitions; the poly flag patch has many narrow stripes repeated down the patch.

The three-stripe zigzag flag patterns fit a rectangle 25 stitches wide and 17 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want an 28 x 20 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

The combined aego “aroace” pattern is based on this image series which can be recreated with some four-stripe a-spectrum flags (a la idem or cupio) using my twelve-block pixel “aroace” pattern.
