Pride Patch Patterns: February 2022

Text reading "pride patch patterns" against a grey grid background. The words pride and pattern are written in a black handdrawn/script font and outlined with white. The word patch is drawn pixel-style like a cross stitch pattern and filled in with the green/light green/white/grey/black stripes of the aromantic flag.

As I post weekly pride patch patterns on Patreon, here’s a monthly round-up for non-subscribers!

Demiromantic cross stitch patch pattern with the text demi in lower-case pixel-style lettering, striped in the colours of the white/green/light grey demiromantic pride flag, with a dark green background. A black triangle coves the d and part of the e. Pattern is set on a light grey grid. Letters are outlined, indicating backstitch, in light green.

Folks who need help with materials, stitching, finishing or attaching patches should check out my tutorial master page.

Previous patterns are available at my pattern gallery.

Notes on Pattern Structure

Full coloured blocks indicate a full cross stitch. Letter outlines indicate backstitch.

Blocks divided on the diagonal by a line of backstitch, each half a different colour, indicate quarter stitches. Please see my first text tutorial and my pride text tutorial for more information on backstitching outlines and placing quarter/fractional stitches.

Space for edging your patch is not shown in the patterns below. You’ll need to allow additional blocks for this when cutting your swatch, depending on how narrow or thick you like your edges.

Demi Patch Patterns – Ten Block, Lower Case

The triangle and five-stripe “demi” patterns fit a rectangle 40 stitches wide and 14 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 43 x 17 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Fray Patch Pattern – Ten Block, Upper Case

Fray cross stitch patch pattern with the text fray in upper-case block lettering, striped in the colours of the dark grey/light grey/white/cyan/blue frayromantic flag, with a red-maroon background. Pattern is set on a light grey grid. Letters are outlined, indicating backstitch, in dark blue.

The five-stripe “fray” pattern fits a rectangle 34 stitches wide and 14 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 37 x 17 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Square Flag Patch Pattern – Four Stripe, Demi

Three square four-stripe 16 x 16 block cross stitch pride flag patterns, set on a grey grid. Flags from left to right: horizontal grey/lime/white/coral idemromantic flag; vertical black/green/white/grey demiromantic flag with black rhombus/diamond; horizontal grey/lime/cyan/light grey demiquoi flag with black triangle.

The 16 x 16 four-stripe, demi-rhombus and demi-triangle square flag patterns fit a square 16 stitches wide and 16 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want an 19 x 19 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).

Unit Patch Pattern – Ten Block, Upper Case

Cross stitch pattern with the text unit in block upper-case lettering, striped in the colours of the violet/lavender/navy/aqua/green unit aro-ace flag, on a light blue background. Letters are outlined in dark navy.

The five-stripe “unit” pattern fits a rectangle 30 stitches wide and 14 stitches high. Assuming a three stitch border, as for my other patches, this means you’ll want a 33 x 17 block swatch plus any excess (if used unmodified).
